POSITION: PLANT OPERATORS (CRWB 9)

ABOUT CENTRAL REGION WATER BOARD
Central Region Water Board (CRWB) is a statutory corporation established under the Waterworks Act No. 17 of 1995. The Board is mandated to provide water and sanitation services in all towns and market centres within the Central Region, except Lilongwe City.
The Board invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced candidates to fill the vacant position of Plant Operator.
KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
1. Supervising Plant Assistants, allocating duties and monitoring their performance.
2. Managing water intake, pumping plants, water treatment plants and water tanks according to assigned work shifts.
3. Carrying out water pumping and treatment operations.
4. Monitoring water levels in tanks and assessing tank performance to identify and address any discrepancies.
5. Conducting routine pump performance tests and power factor connection inspections at pumping stations to ensure optimal performance.
6. Performing minor maintenance works on water supply infrastructure up to tank areas.
7. Recording daily operational and statistical data.
8. Preparing daily operational reports for management.
9. Performing any other duties relevant to the position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Applicants must possess the following qualifications and experience:
- Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE).
- Advanced Certificate in General Fitting, Mechanical, Electrical or Plumbing.
- At least two (2) years of experience working at Plant Assistant level.
